Fundamentals of Aromatherapy

This distance learning course may be taken alone or as part of the first section of the full course for the Diploma in Aromatherapy. The objectives of this course are to teach the foundations of Aromatherapy and the safe and effective use of 15 essential oils as first aid in the home.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Syllabus

Techniques for the Study and Use of Essential Oils / Methods of Extraction / Quality of Essential Oils / Safety / Botanical Classification / Body Systems (in brief) and Essential Oils / Methods of Application and Treatment / Essential Oils in Home Use / First Aid / Floral Waters / Blending Oils / Carrier Oils / Detail Study of 15 Essential Oils. Duration Studies may be completed in approx. 6 months.

Award

A certificate in the Fundamentals of Aromatherapy is awarded on the successful completion of the course. Students progressing to the full Diploma course are granted exemption from the first section of the course.
