A Certificate
is awarded upon the successful completion of this course! In
our world, disease patterns are constantly changing, in concert
with our changing lifestyles and well-being. Our physical and
social environment is a considerable factor and for our health.
In general medical practice, most illness is self limiting or
minor chronic illness: for instance, 30% have respiratory infections,
15% skin disorders, 10% musculoskeletal, 10% psychiatric problems,
and 7% gastrointestinal complaints. Many of these do not fall
into clear-cut disease patterns and diagnoses, but serious disease
can be safely excluded. This course aims to make you confident
that you will not miss any condition that requires urgent medical
or surgical intervention, and to refer on if necessary.
Eligibility
This groundbreaking
new British Institute course created by Dr. Natasha Usher, is
aimed at any person working within the Complementary Health
Care field, including acupuncturists, naturopaths, aromatherapists,
chiropractors, herbalists and nurses. The course may conveniently
be taken as part of the Human Sciences Programme.
It is noticeable
that whilst many people are qualified within their own chosen
area of Complimentary Therapy, that they are not taught diagnostic
skills or the importance of distinguishing the severity of symptoms
presented to them, leaving them lacking in an important skill
and confidence.
This exciting course,
designed to use the latest technology, aims to put back that
confidence and skill not taught within the majority of courses,
and help them bridge the gap between allopathic and complementary
medicines.
