Postgraduate Course in Homoeopathy

Course No. 105

The aim of the Postgraduate Course is not only to train homoeopaths to high standards of achievement, but to produce mature, confident practitioners who will play leading roles in homoeopathy in the future as authors, teachers, researchers or administrators.

The Postgraduate Course is unique and stimulating. I contains much new and unpublished information and presentations with an entirely new approach designed to develop the creativity of the student. It offers a multi-faceted course programme. Many British Institute postgraduates are now conducting research programmes, have written books and are recognised as leading lecturers as well as running successful practices.

Eligibility

Applicants for the programme must be holders of a Diploma of the Institute (DIHom, DHPh, D Vet Hom or DDHom), or an equivalent qualification from a recognised college in the UK or overseas, or have previous experience in homoeopathic practice. Candidates are likely to be homoeopaths, veterinary surgeons, physicians, pharmacists, dentists, physiotherapists or other health professionals.

Duration

The average duration of the course is about 18 months. The programme requires 450 hours of study, but students may work at their own pace of their choosing (you are not tied to a lecture schedule). Your personal tutor will help you achieve whatever goal you set yourself.

Course Programme

  • Thesis: A short, original thesis of not less than 1500 words is presented by each student on completion of the course. A copy will be place in the Institute library.
  • Practical Work: Practical instruction in homoeopathic pharmacy (equipment is supplied by the Institute free of charge) to enable practitioners to prepare and dispense their own remedies.
  • Audiotapes and Videotapes
  • Personal Tutor: An expert professional homoeopath is assigned to assist every student on a personal basis.
  • Examinations: There is a mid-term examination and a final examination. The latter consists of a written paper and, in some cases, a short oral examination (by telephone).
  • Seminars: Postgraduate Course students may attend optional seminars held by the Institute at various worldwide locations. They are free of charge to postgraduate students.
  • Case Studies: Students are required to submit five case studies prior to the final examinations.
